Cynthia Kinney, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Cynthia Kinney joined our hospital in 2020.  She is a Colorado native but grew up and received her education in California. She earned her B.A. in liberal studies from the University of California, Riverside, and then went on to earn her DVM from Western University of Health Sciences. She feels that veterinary medicine gives her the opportunity to combine her deep sense of nurturing with science and critical thinking. Dr. Kinney enjoys developing relationships with her patients and clients and sharing the circle of life with them. Her special interests are geriatric medicine, soft tissue surgery, and population medicine. She especially enjoys cases that involve multiple areas of veterinary medicine and feels the best part of her job is witnessing and experiencing the human-animal bond. Dr. Kinney has a background in emergency and shelter medicine.

When not working, Dr. Kinney loves being with her husband Larry, and their two amazing children Mitchell & Reese. Her fur kids include Elsa, Edward, and Egon. Edward (her grumpy yet loving chihuahua) and Egon (her handsome dachshund) both came into Dr. Kinney’s life as sick and abandoned dogs. She also has many koi fish and a family of ducks that live on her property. She enjoys building Legos, reading, camping, traveling, watching Star Wars movies, and learning about sharks.
