About the Role

Lambs Gap Animal Hospital is looking for a positive, outgoing individual to join our team as a kennel attendant/veterinary assistant. We are a well-established, four-doctor general practice that has been providing care for companion animals and pocket pets in Mechanicsburg, PA, for over 25 years. We offer a wide range of services to provide the best comprehensive, quality care to our patients. 

This is a part-time position.  Hours include evenings, weekends, and some holiday shifts. This can be a seasonal/temporary or permanent position.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Assist with the daily care and well-being of boarding and hospitalized patients
  Provide food, water, and medication to dogs and cats as directed
• Take dogs into fenced yard for potty breaks and exercise
• Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to the doctor
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Interact with clients during admission and discharge of patients
• Fill prescription medications under doctor direction
• Assist with and restrain for appointments for services such as nail trims, blood draws, and injections
• Cleaning duties including: laundry, scooping dog waste in yard, washing dishes, taking out the trash, sweeping/mopping floors, cleaning exam rooms, cleaning and sanitizing cages/runs, scooping and cleaning litter pans
• Other duties as assigned

* Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required
